India Gate


The India Gate is the public memorial of India. Located in the spirit of New Delhi, India Gate was planned by Sir Edwin Lutyens, stimulated by the  Arc de Triomphe in Paris. It was built in 1931. I t is formerly known as All India War monument, it is a famous landmark in Delhi and commemorate the 90,000 military of the Indian Army who lost their life while struggle for the Indian Empire.


A memorial celebrated with the name of the courageous Indian soldiers who laid down their life in World War I. The immature, like velvet lawns at India Gate, mostly, are a admired twilight and holiday meeting for young and old alike. A should visit place in New Delhi.


Specially on every Republic Day, 26 January, the Prime Minister pays respect to the military beside with Heads of Armed Forces, before union the once a year march past at the  Raj path. It is remarkable here that the President of India with the chief guest do not get concerned in this ceremonial on this day.
