Wayanad-Coorg (05 Days 06 Nights)

Day 01:
Meet and greet at Calicut International Airport or the railway station and proceed to Wayanad (4 hrs), experiencing the mesmerizing sights and sounds of nature. Check in to thehotel/resort at Vyttri / Kalpetta and take a walk or visit Lakkidi and Pookot in the evening. Providing an ideal romantic backdrop, Lakkidi is tucked among the foothills of Thamarasseri Ghats and situated 700m above sea level. Next stop is Pookat lake, the only fresh water lake of its kind in Kerala fenced by lofty mountains, which is sure to be an unforgettable experience for life. Return to the resort and overnight stay.

Day 02
After breakfast, advance to Edakkal caves –  which lie 1,200 m above sea level and 12 kms from Sulthan Bathery. The caves have writings believed to be dating back to 5000 BC. Next destination is Chethalayam waterfalls, which is an ideal place far from the crowd!. Back to the resort and overnight stay there.

Day 03
After breakfast, progress to Kuruwa island, 950 acres of paradise, home to rare flora and fauna, encircled by the gurgling Kabani river. After lunch and a mini break, proceed to Tholpetty Wild life Sanctuary and explore the rustic beauty of nature with your companion! Back to the hotel and overnight stay there.

Day 04
After breakfast, proceed to Coorg which is a romantic route fringed by virgin forests, rivulets, hills and valleys. Reach Coorg and step in to the leisure of the hotel room. After refreshing, visit the mind blowing Abbi Falls and then off to Raja seat for viewing a spectacular sunset. The place is ideal and so called because the Coorg Raja’s used to visit the spot with their consorts to enjoy the stunning nature around! Over night stay at the hotel.

Day 05
Being the last day at Coorg, the destination is the breath taking and beautiful island of Nisargadhama, which is around 30 kms from Madikeri.

Nisargadhama is a breath taking and beautiful island off the state highway, Just 2 km from Kushalnagar town and around 30 kms from Madikeri. An Ecological Park for young and old and a paradise for the nature lovers also it has a small snack house, a deer park, boating and elephant ride. It’s a 64 acre island with Cauvery river flowing by, can be accessed by walking across a hanging bridge. If you feel like having a relaxed time in a quite and peaceful environment, Nisargadhama is the place. It gives immense pleasure to all the Nature loving tourists. Nisargadhama has a forest Department run rest house. It’s filled with lush foliage of thick bamboo groves. Elephant rides and boating are some of the other attractions. This place is for one who wants to spend a nice time in the green with family, there are also tree houses boating and other activities conducted around this place.

Day 06
In the morning, after breakfast you will proceed to Talcauvry (the source of River Cauvery) and Bhagamandala (the point where Cauvery assumes the shape of a river). Later visit the ancient temple and in the evening, go to Madikeri town and enjoy shopping for honey, coffee and spices as souvenirs of your travel to Coorg. Gandhi Mantap is a memorial to the father of the nation built at the site where Mahatma Gandhi sat and addressed the people of Madikeri during his visit in 1932.Over-night will be stay at hotel.

Day 07: Coorg- Kozhikode
In the morning, after breakfast, check out of your hotel room and proceed to the Rajiv Gandhi National Park at Nagarhole. It is the best place to enjoy game screening for the rest of the day. Try your luck spotting the ferocious tiger. In the afternoon proceed to Kozhikode and stay at a hotel there.

Day 08: Kozhikode
In the morning, after break fast, check out from hotel and proceed to Calicut visiting Pazhassiraja Museum & Art Gallery which is about 5 Km away from the town. This historical art gallery displays historic bronzes, coins, megalithic relics, murals and paintings by artists from various parts of Kerala. Mananchira Square is in the heart of Kozhikode. It surrounds Mananchira tank which was used to be the private bath of the Samuthiris in the past. On the Kappad Beach one can witness a small stone monument paying the highest regard to Vasco da Gama’s arrival to India 1498 A.D.Calicut Beach: There is an old lighthouse and two crumbling hundred-year-old piers running into the sea. Lions Park and the Marine Water Aquarium are other places to visit on the beach. If time permits you can visit another beach – famous Beypore Beach which is about 10 Km away from Kozhikode. There is a traditional boat-building yard in this area. Over-night will be stay at hotel.

Day 09: Departure
In the morning, after breakfast, proceed to Calicut/Kozhikode airport/railway station to board your flight/train. As you go home let the ever-relishing memory of Gods own Country remain in your mind.
