Day 01 : : Arrive Mumbai
Arrival Mumbai, as per your flight schedule pickup from Mumbai airport and transfer to hotel, day at your rest, Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 02 : : Mumbai – Board the Maharaja’s Express Train
Morning after breakfast, half day city tour, Later transfer to CST train station to board the Maharaja’s Express, for your seven night luxury train journey. You will be greeted with a welcome drink. The train departs Mumbai at 16:40 hrs and travels from the land of Marathas to Gujarat. Dinner on board.
Day 03 : : Vadodara
Morning arrival in Vadodara, the Royal city of the Gaekwads, on the banks of the Vishwamitri River After a leisurely breakfast drive to Jambhughoda visiting enroute the World Heritage site of Champaner-Pavagardh Archaeological Park, an ancient town full of ruins scattered over the foothills of Pavagadh. Visit the magnificent Jami Masjid, an architectural marvel built in 1513. Lunch at the Jambhughoda Palace. Return to Vadodara for the sightseeing, visit the Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum with the royal art collection including the 19th & 20th century Indian and European paintings. Dinner at the magnificent Laxmi Vilas Palace, built in Indo-Saracenic style, and witnesses a lovely folk dance performance. Return to the station and board the train for Udaipur.
Day 04 : : Udaipur
Morning arrival in Udaipur, city interspersed with shimmering lakes, marble palaces and beautiful laid gardens. Visit the City Palace complex, a marvel of marble and granite with ornate windows and craftsmanship in glass. Feel like a king as you experience the hospitality at the Durbar Hall, reminiscent of the ancient Mewar glory. Feast your taste buds over a vast spread of International cuisine. After lunch a walking tour of the old markets. Return to the train for an overnight journey to Jodhpur. Dinner on board
Day 05 : : Jodhpur
Morning arrival in Jodhpur, at the entrance of the Thar Desert. Known as the ‘Blue City’, Jodhpur is the 2nd largest city of Rajasthan, dominated by the Meherangarh Fort. After lunch on board, tour of Jodhpur visiting the Old Clock Tower market, experience the hustle and bustle of this vibrant city, visit the magnificent Meherangarh Fort, with palaces and temples, housing a rich collection of palanquins, jewels and armory. Enjoy a Royal cocktail evening with a wide array of sumptuous Marwar culinary delights in the Royal courtyard of Meherangarh Fort. Return to the train for your onward journey.
Day 06 : : Bikaner
Morning arrival in Bikaner; popularly know as the Camel Country. Option to visit Lalgarh Palace Museum displaying some fascinating exhibits on the royal heritage of Bikaner. After lunch Visit Junagarh Fort, an unassailable fortress built in 1593 by Raja Rai Singh. While the fort is formidable structure encircled by a moat, its real beauty lies inside. Afternoon excursion to nearby villages to catch glimpse of the rural life. Experience the royal pageantry as a convoy of the decorated camel carts accompanied by musicians takes you to the sand dunes to view the Sunset, followed by cultural programs and enjoy cocktails with a mouth watering barbeque under the stars. Return to the train for onward journey to Jaipur.
Day 07 : : Jaipur
Arrive in Jaipur, popularly known as the ‘Pink City’. Witness an Exhibition Elephant Polo match followed by a champagne lunch. Visit the Amber Fort with huge ramparts and watch towers. Afternoon visit the bustling markets of Jaipur. Late in the evening Maharajas' Express departs for Sawai Madhopur. Dinner on board.
Day 08 : : Swai Madhopur / Ranthambhore – Fatehpur Sikri
Morning arrival in Sawai Madhopur. Transfer to the Ranthambore National Park for a morning wildlife safari. Ranthambore National Park, a Project Tiger Reserve, spreads over slopes to sharp ridges, flat valleys to narrow gorges, dotted with number of water holes and lakes fed by several perennial rivers. The reserve is dynamic in the diversity and density of fauna it supports and is noted for daylight Tiger sightings. Breakfast at Taj Swai Madhopur Lodge. Return to the train and proceed to the Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri. This exquisite city, with its forts, palaces and mosques, was abandoned after 14 years due to shortage of water. Now, a UNISCO world heritage site, this is perhaps the best preserved Mughal city of all. Lunch and Dinner aboard the train.
Day 09 : : Agra and Delhi
Early in the morning arrival in the ancient city of Agra, situated on the banks of the river Yamuna.The city houses the finest monuments which bear the testimony to the aura of grandeur. Visit the Taj Mahal, considered to be the finest example of Mughal architecture, a style that combines elements from Persian, Ottoman, Indian and Islamic architectural styles. The Taj Mahal is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a ‘Wonder of the World’. The Taj Mahal, with a white marble tomb and four minarets, is actually an integrated complex of structures; building began around 1632 and was completed around 1653, and employed thousands of artisans and craftsmen. Enjoy a champagne breakfast on the lawns of Taj Khema overlooking the Taj Mahal. Lunch on board and proceed to Delhi. Arrive Delhi, pick up and transfer to hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 10 : : Delhi Departure
Morning at your leisure, later as per your flight schedule transfer to New Delhi airport to take your flight for your onward journey.
